Cloudflare OS

tooltopic-note

Overview

Cloudflare OS is a self-hostable, Apache-2.0-licensed enterprise AI workspace announced by Cloudflare on Aug 5, 2026. It bundles chat, agent orchestration, doc-editing, and work-orchestration surfaces onto a substrate that enterprises can point at their preferred models and agent runtimes. Deliberately decoupled from @cloudflare/computer (the agent-execution runtime primitive Cloudflare shipped in preview two days earlier on Aug 3) — the workspace can be adopted independently, and vice versa.

Timeline

  • 2026-08-06-AI-Digest — Public launch (Aug 5). Positioned by Cloudflare as the AI workspace layer for how companies actually work, with open licensing and self-hostability as the differentiators against the closed enterprise AI-workspace stack Microsoft / Google / OpenAI have been building through 2025–26. Key Developments

  1. Launch (Aug 5, 2026): Apache-2.0, self-hostable, enterprise-focused. Explicit workspace/agent-runtime split (Cloudflare OS vs @cloudflare/computer) is load-bearing to the positioning — enterprises adopt each independently.
